Catch cans are designed to trap and capture crank case oil that naturally occurs from the crankcase oil vapor in the pcv system. Instead of reintroducing it to the combustion chamber, catch cans seperate the oil from the air vapor reducing oil build up (expecially on direct injection engines) in the intake ports and overtime robbing your engine of performance.
